About Tea sets
A tea set is a gift that comes out every time someone visits.
Which tea set should you give?
Start with the person, then the way they drink tea. Anaiza Nest tea sets fall into four kinds, each suited to a different home and a different budget.
| Kind of set | Who it suits | From |
|---|---|---|
| Travel tea sets | Someone who takes tea to the office, on trips or to a picnic. Compact, in a fitted carry case. | ৳2,320 |
| Gongfu (kung fu) sets | A tea lover who brews slowly, in small cups, for friends. | ৳6,200 |
| Full sets for the table | A couple, a new home or parents who host often. | ৳5,530 |
| Collector pieces | A once-in-a-lifetime gift, such as the handcrafted blue tenmoku tea set. | ৳32,500 |
What is a gongfu tea set?
Gongfu, also written kung fu, means "with skill". It is the Chinese way of brewing tea in a small teapot or gaiwan and pouring it into small cups, steeping the same leaves several times. A gongfu set from Anaiza Nest, such as the Five Blessings kung fu tea set (৳6,200) or the purple sand clay kung fu tea set (৳13,700), suits someone who enjoys the ritual as much as the tea.
Porcelain, ceramic, clay or glass?
Porcelain is thin, smooth and light, and suits a refined table. Glazed ceramic is heavier and keeps tea warm for longer. Purple sand clay is unglazed and slowly takes on the flavour of the tea, so it suits a person who brews one favourite. A glass teapot lets you watch the leaves open; the Anaiza Nest glass teapot tea set comes with an electric ceramic warmer (৳12,300).
How much does a tea set cost in Bangladesh?
- Under ৳3,000: portable travel tea sets and the ceramic gaiwan and cups with carry case.
- ৳3,000 to ৳7,000: the ceramic travel tea set with tray and carry case, Ruyao and Guochao sets, and the Five Blessings kung fu set.
- ৳7,000 to ৳17,000: the kung fu tea set for home or office, the embossed white ceramic set, the glass teapot set, the purple sand clay set and the blue and white gongfu set with fitted case.
- A collector piece: the handcrafted blue tenmoku ceramic tea set at ৳32,500.
Will the tea set arrive safely?
Every Anaiza Nest tea set is checked and packed by hand in Dhaka. Many travel in their own gift box or fitted carry case, and each product page lists exactly what is in the box. Delivery takes 1 to 3 days inside Dhaka and 3 to 5 days across Bangladesh. If a piece arrives damaged, send us the unboxing video within 3 days and we will make it right.
Gifted, beautifully.
