What does the tea tray do?
The tray is the small table the tea is served on. Its grooved surface catches the drips and the water used to warm the cups, so the desk or the picnic cloth stays dry. Brew the leaves in the ceramic infuser inside the teapot, lift it out onto its small saucer when the tea is ready, then pour. Tip the tray out when you are done.
Why are there fine lines in the glaze?
That is the ice crackle, made on purpose when the glaze cools in the kiln. It is not a crack in the cup. Over months of use, tea slowly settles into the lines and darkens them, which many tea lovers enjoy watching happen.

How do I care for it?
Rinse each piece soon after use and wash by hand in warm water, without scouring pads. Tea slowly darkens the crackle lines over time; this is normal. Warm the teapot before pouring in boiling water. Empty and dry the tray, and dry every piece fully before packing it into the case.
